Composer

Matthew has been writing music for as long as he has been able to play the piano. His colourful imagination and creative talent have enabled him to compose music regularly, from film scores through to pop songs. He majored in composition at university, exploring the capabilities and constraints of the orchestra, and has experience writing for a whole host of instruments. He draws influences from many sources, and is particularly inspired by the work of George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. His knack of writing catchy melodies has led to success in composing jingles, something that was recognised by his composition tutor at
university.

Matthew is also offering his services to schools in the form of producing specially commissioned compositions and arrangements for both extra-curricular activities, as well as music in the classroom. These can be tailored to the needs and abilities of the schools' pupils. He is also able to visit the school in question to offer assistance and advice, as some primary schools are without a specialist music teacher and/or department.
